| Review Summary:
Black Brook Course is very difficult and I could see it hosting a PGA
event if it was longer. Sanctuary is in great shape. It is more for the
golfer looking for less of a challenge |
Conditions:
Black Brook is usually in great shape, greens are always roll fast and
well cut and fairways are always well kept. When the weather isn't great
though the course can get really wet because of the water table around
Lake Mille Lacs and all the wooded areas.
Sanctuary is usually in good shape too; the greens roll fast and the
fairways are well kept. Usually doesn't get as wet on rainy days because
the course doesn't have a lot of trees.

Scenery: Black
Brook is cut right out of the woods so there are a lot of foxes and deer
running around. Very tame animals, foxes are known to get close and
follow you around. Very cool! The signature hole #14 is a par three
right on the shore of lake Mille Lacs one of the best views you will see
anywhere but don't under think the length try playing it in the wind and
it could turn the hole into a par four. #16 is one of the toughest par
threes in the state.
Sanctuary doesn't have as mush scenery but it has some deer and foxes
and a lot of Wild Grasses and fun little holes. |
| Layout:
Black Brook is a wooded course with a lot of ponds and
sand traps, it is cut out a lot like a PGA course on TV. Very fast
greens and rolling fairways. |
| Services:
Excellent, cart crew washes your clubs when you pull
up and great food and 2 or 3 beverage cars on the course at a time
depending on the day. |
