| Review Summary:
Among the worst values for golf in MN. Course was designed by an amateur
and it shows; one of the worst course layouts I have played. Course is
in average condition at best. Few to no typical amenities. The worst
customer service I have seen on a MN public golf course. |
| Conditions:
I have seen burnt greens, patchy fairways, uneven rough, drowned out
holes because of drainage engineering, and generally poor regular
upkeep. |
| Scenery: Uninspiring.
Carved into relatively few acres for an 18-hole course,
this place is situated amongst a cemetery and a US highway. Trees on the
newer holes are immature or undernourished. At times, the course looks
like a pasture. |
| Layout:
The original nine holes are great. The
club that runs this course decided to hire a local to design the new
eighteen-hole configuration. That person has no prior experience
designing golf courses. The club had to re-configure the course after a
couple of years because of safety concerns and constant complaints. In a
word: disaster. There are long walks between several holes making the
course unwalkable for many players. The course has two par 4s playing
fewer than 300 yards and six par 3s. |
| Services:
Service by the managing staff and support in the clubhouse is terrible.
I was a member there for seven years and I tolerated the service because
I was a local. Smiles on the faces at the cash register are rare and the
people organizing the tee times just didn't seem to care. The managing
staff had difficulty remembering names of new members when I was there.
All in all, this organization needs an overhaul from top to bottom. |
